 There ARE Alternatives to Capitalism

The concept   The site concept

Margaret Thatcher coined the acronym TINA, meaning There Is No Alternative. She was refering to the fact that most people have grievances about the capitalistic system and TINA was her response. Well, there are many that disagree and, if TINA is not sufficient for you, and if you are curious to explore what some alternatives might be then you will find that this site explores one very rational such alternative.

This site can be thought of as one person's expression of dissatisfaction with the idea of government and power. I have read and continue to read literature on the topics of socio-anarchism (or similarly social libertarianism, anarcho-syndicalism, collectivist anarchism, anarcho-communism) and try to write my articles on these topics as they make sense to me, for my time and place. There is still a lot of room for discussion and I don't by any means think that I have any complete answers. In my writing I try not to use any uncommon words or unclear words with many meanings like liberty, freedom, justice, or democracy without clarifying exactly what I mean by them. These words have been overused and misused.

I am not an objectivist, meaning that I don’t think that I understand the world for what it truly is, free from my personal bias, and experience. Before you read anything that I, or anybody else for that matter, write I hope that you understand this and know that I understand this too. If you read about me I think that you might gains some insight into the origin of my opinions and passions.

The articles are organized in a progressive fashion and you can read them in order by clicking the links to the left, starting with the problem with which I chose to concern myself. I might reference some people that have had great influence on my thought whose biographies you can find here as well. I might reference some ideas or words that are uncommon or ambiguous which are explained in the glossary. Most of my material is derived from the resources provided which I think are a good place to continue. I would greatly appreciate your feedback on the site and other topics so please feel free to write to me. Finally, I am developing an interactive portion of the site that you will provide feedback based on information about yourself that you enter. This is a work in progress.
